If you are logged into CoGe using your CyVerse credentials, CoGe can send/retrieve data from your CyVerse Data Store.  For CoGe to do this, there must be a directory called "coge_data" at the base of your data store.  You can check for this directory or make it through the CyVerse Discovery Environment or with the i-commands.

That is usually cause by the "coge_data" not being present in your home directory.  To create this directory, you can:
# Go to the CyVerse user portal (https://user.cyverse.org) and add CoGe as a service.  This will automatically create the "coge_data" directory
