There are many ways to share genomes, but the basic things you need are:

  1. A notebook with the data to share
  2. A user group with the users

How to:

  1. Make sure you are logged into CoGe
  2. Make a notebook
    1. Go to your profile page: http://genomevolution.org/CoGe/User.pl
    2. Press the "+" sign new to the "My Notebooks" title.
      1. This will create a new notebook and take you NotebookView
    3. Edit the notebook's info
    4. Add your genome(s) to the notebook by pressing "+Add Item" under "Contents"
      1. You can also add other data here including public genome, experiments, etc.
  3. Create user group:
    1. Go to your profile page: http://genomevolution.org/CoGe/User.pl
    2. Press the "+" sign next to the "My Groups" title.
      1. This will create a new user group and take you to GroupView
    3. Add users to the group by pressing the "modify users" button
      1. You can search for users by first name, last name, or user name. Add them to your group by pressing the "add" button.
    4. Add the notebook you previously created to the group by pressing "Add Notebook"
      1. You can search for notebooks by name and description.
  4. Done!
