In CoGe, a chromosome is an assembled portion of a genome. This includes contigs, supercontigs, scaffolds, segments (e.g. viruses), plasmids, organelles, full chromosomes, and complete genomes (e.g. bacteria). This computational definition should not be confused with the biological definition of a chromosome.
