Purple in both the dotplot and histogram are orthologous gene pairs. Green from their shared most recent polyploidy event, red from a more ancient polyploidy event. For the most recent polyploidy event (green), there is a strong signal for a duplication (tetraploidy) with a few regions show a triplication (hexaploidy; chromosome 7 potato).
