The last paragraph of my PhD dissertation on CoGe:

"Future of CoGe’s development:

CoGe represents a significant departure from other genomics tools. Its ability to accommodate multiple genomes from any organism is something no other genomic platform can do. However, given the obvious need for such tools, and the wealth of research opportunities they bring, CoGe is merely the first system on the block. While it will be a welcomed day when CoGe is supplanted by the next generation of genomics platforms, given the longevity of other systems, CoGe’s functional lifespan will probably be around 10 to 15 years. During that time, there are many improvements and additions to be made to its existing tool set, some foreseeable and some to be discovered."
