Overview of polyploidy in the Angiosperms

Amborella lacks all the polyploidy events found in the other angiosperms. While there is evidence of an angioperm-specific polyploidy based on phylogenetic evidence from transcriptome analyses (http://www.nature.com/nature/journal/v473/n7345/abs/nature09916.html), there is no structural evidence identified from Amborella-Amborella syntenic dotplots.

Amborella lacks the eudicot paleohexaploidy
